Toronto Police are seeking the public's help after a series of shootings in Etobicoke last Friday that left four people injured and prompted a lockdown at two hospitals.
Police said the first shooting happened at around 6:39 p.m. in the Mount Olive Drive and Kipling Avenue area. Three people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including a male victim who was shot in the buttocks. He was taken to Etobicoke General Hospital by local residents. Police said the suspects followed that victim to the hospital, and opened fire in that area, injuring another person.
Etobicoke General Hospital was placed under lockdown for a period of time following the shooting. Sunnybrook Hospital, where the other two victims were taken to by EMS, was also placed under lockdown as a precaution.
Police later responded to another shooting in the Martin Grove Road and Albion Road area. Investigators say shots were fired from a vehicle in the residential area. There were no injuries reported in that incident, but investigators believe it is linked to the earlier shooting.
"Everybody's been released, no life threatening," Sgt. Angelo Costa told CTVNews.ca on Monday. Police said while some of suspects involved in the shootings were "known to police," they could not say if the incidents were gang related or not.
At this time it's still not clear how many suspects were involved in the shootings.
