Toronto Police are canvassing an Etobicoke neighbourhood after a series of brazen daytime shootings left four people injured late Friday afternoon.
Police were called to the area of Mount Olive Drive, near Kipling Avenue and Finch Avenue West, at around 6:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Police say two men and a woman were injured when suspects fired shots in a common area of the residential complex.
One man was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip while the female victim was taken to a local trauma centre with a gunshot to her ankle.
Police say the third victim sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was driven to Etobicoke General Hospital by a local resident. Investigators say a shooter followed that man to hospital and opened fire in the area, injuring a fourth victim at the scene.
The emergency area at Etobicoke General Hospital was briefly placed under a lockdown immediately after the shooting but has since been reopened.
Sunnybrook Hospital was also placed under a lockdown on Friday evening as a precaution. The lockdown has since been lifted.
Police say two male victims still remain in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while two others have been released from hospital.
There is a heavy police presence in the Mount Olive area as investigators gather evidence and speak to witnesses. Additional officers have also been sent to both Sunnybrook and Etobicoke General Hospital.
Police are also investigating a scene at Martin Grove Road south of Finch Avenue that they believe is linked to the shooting.
Police believe that there may be four suspects and at least two vehicles involved in the incident.
Officers say they investigation is still on-going and that police will provide a description of possible suspects once they have gathered enough information.
