CALEDONIA, Ont. - A 19-year-old man has been charged in the September 2007 beating of a contractor in Caledonia, Ont.
Richard Smoke is one of three protesters charged with the assault of Sam Gualtieri.
Gualtieri spent five days in hospital, including three in intensive care, after suffering facial injuries, a fractured shoulder blade and two skull fractures.
Gualtieri was helping build his daughter's home in the Stirling Woods subdivision when aboriginal protesters swarmed the site and attacked him.
Smoke was identified as a suspect shortly after the incident.
Byron Powless, who was 18 at the time, and a 15-year-old were also charged.
