FORT ERIE, Ont. - A transport driver faces charges after provincial police say a cruiser was forced off the QEW near Fort Erie, Ont.
Police allege the rig was making a lane change near a construction zone and side-swiped the cruiser, forcing it into the centre median where it hit a sign.
The officer from the Cambridge detachment, who is part of the highway enforcement team, was not injured.
Police say the transport driver has been charged with careless driving, failing to remain and failing to report an accident.
His name has not been released.
