TORONTO - A man who was gunned down in Toronto wasn't a "thug" or a gun-seller, says a friend who drove him to the area where he was killed.

The man, who only gave his first name of Ryan, says he blames himself because he gave his friend a ride there on Wednesday night.

Police say 21-year-old Justin Brunet was shot in the head.

Witnesses reported hearing eight or nine shots fired at a two-storey townhouse complex.

Brunet, Toronto's 29th homicide victim, was discovered in a grassy area between two buildings.

Det. Mike Carbone says they don't have a motive for his slaying.
