Peel homicide officers suspect foul play is involved in the death of a 27-year-old maid who was found inside a Mississauga mansion on Monday.
Police were called to the home on Doulton Drive, near Mississauga Road and Dundas Street West, in the late afternoon.
After examining the lifeless body of the Filipina maid, investigators believe the victim died as a result of foul play.
The home belongs to a local doctor and a businessman.
Police are releasing few details, including the woman's identity, the cause of death and who called police.
Officers would not say if they have a suspect in custody.
"This is not a risk to public safety, this is an isolated incident that our officers are investigating," Const. Sam Mulley told CTV's Austin Delaney.
Neighbours knew little about the homeowners. They told reporters they didn't witness anything unusual in the area on Monday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
