Family and friends of Michele Yu, 18, continue to search for the missing girl on Thursday after the high school student went missing two days ago.
Yu was last seen at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in North York near York Mills Road and Chipstead Road, police say.
Yu's disappearance is out of character for the girl, who is a good student with lots of friends. She is involved in Girl Guides and student council, friends say.
"I know my parents are really worried, I know it hasn't really set in yet, but we're just hoping for the best," Yu's younger sister, Nicole Yu, told CP24.
Police say they are also concerned because the young woman requires medication and may not have it with her.
Nicole said family and friends were awake through the night on Tuesday, putting missing posters up at transit stations in the hopes that a morning commuter might have seen Yu.
A friend of Yu's said she texted another friend at 3 p.m. Tuesday, saying she was at York Mills subway station.
Police also released photo footage of Yu taken from a TD Bank camera at 354 Bay Street at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said Yu appeared to be alone at that time.
The bank is not the one she usually uses and is far away from her North York home, said her family.
Yu is described as Asian, 5'7" and about 125 lbs. She was wearing a grey American Apparel hoodie, brown moccasins and may be wearing glasses.
