DESERONTO, Ont. -- Provincial police have recovered the bodies of two Tyendinaga Mohawk men -- reported missing on a fishing trip last month -- in the Bay of Quinte.
The OPP Marine Unit received a radio alert from a boater on Friday afternoon, reporting the location of one of the men in the water in the middle channel of the Bay of Quinte.
Police recovered the body of one of the men and brought it to shore, when another boater approached police and notified them of another body in the same location.
The victims were identified as 21-year-old Tyler Maracle and 26 year-old Matthew Fairman.
Police say they were reported missing on April 26 after launching a four-metre aluminum boat near the Skyway Bridge to go fishing.
The Ontario Coroner's Office is investigating.
