Police are warning drivers of poor road conditions after 10 to 15 centimetres snow fell on the Toronto area.
A snowfall warning that was issued for the city has been lifted, but Environment Canada says there is still a 40 per cent chance of snow later this evening.
Police say since 5 a.m., as many as 200 collisions have been reported in the city.
In Scarborough, two school buses ended up in the ditch on Military Trail just north of Ellesmere Road. There were students on the buses at the time, but no one was injured, according to Toronto Fire. Other buses were called to transfer the students to school.
Officials did not give the ages of the students, but confirmed that one of the buses was headed to George B. Little Public School.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Canadian Automobile Association said that they'd received about 600 calls by 8:30 a.m.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Clint Stibbe says he's seen a lot of drivers using their cellphones despite the conditions requiring full attention.
"This is not the time or place to look at your cellphones," he said.
The TTC, GO Transit and other GTA transit organizations issued warnings to users to expect delays on all surface routes.
As of 6 p.m., 214 arriving flights and 234 departing flights have been cancelled at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
At Billy Bishop Toronto Centre Airport, eight arriving flights and eight departing flights had been cancelled by 6 p.m.
