A woman is dead after a grisly highway crash north of Toronto, police confirmed on Monday.
York Regional Police said the woman was in the passenger seat of a small silver Ford when it crossed into oncoming traffic along Highway 27, at Nashville Road, and struck a northbound truck.
The car’s male driver and two female passengers were rushed to hospital, where one passenger was pronounced dead.
The driver and other passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck involved in the crash was not injured.
York police continue to investigate at the scene of the crash.
