Road rage is believed to have sparked a multi-vehicle collision that sent a Jaguar careering first into an east-end home before it hit two vehicles parked in the driveway -- and giving one home's owners an unexpected wake-up call.
"We were asleep when we felt the house shake," Sherrall Peckham told CTV Toronto on Tuesday. "My husband said, 'Something hit the house.'"
A burgundy 2004 Jaguar and a black 2004 Cadillac were southbound on Kennedy Road around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday when they came into contact, Toronto Police Const. David Audette said.
The Jaguar, driven by a 53-year-old woman, struck a pole, crossed a lawn and then hit the front steps of a home.
Those steps acted as a ramp, leaving the vehicle up on two wheels. It then smashed into a Toyota Yaris and a Dodge Ram parked in a driveway. It then struck a second house.
All three vehicles are write-offs, Audette said.
Blair Peckham, Sherrall's husband, said the Jaguar's driver was in shock and wouldn't get out of her car.

The Cadillac, driven by a 39-year-old man, was able to remain on the road but zigzagging skid marks indicate that he was also out of control, police said. It did a 360-degree on Kennedy Road just south of Lawrence Avenue East.
Both motorists are facing stunt- and careless-driving charges. Their licences have been suspended and their cars impounded for seven days. They are due to appear in a Toronto court on Sept. 8.
Even before fines that a court might impose if the two are convicted, this incident will cost the two motorists, Audette said.
"There is the initial cost of the tow, and then there are seven days of impound fees," he said.
Those convicted of stunt driving face a minimum $2,000 fine and six demerit points, Audette said.
The four-lane roadway was well-traveled at that time. Witnesses are asked to contact police at (416) 808-4100 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-8477.
