Toronto police are looking for four suspects after one man was murdered and another was sent to hospital following an altercation Saturday night.
The two victims were found minutes apart and just a block away from each other in the Jane-Finch area. After reviewing surveillance tapes, police concluded the two cases are related.
Police were first called to an apartment building at 2801 Jane St. at 7:12 p.m. to help a 19-year-old man suffering from a single stab wound.
At 7:19 p.m., they received a call about a man lying in a pool of blood, just around the corner from the first scene at 10 Eddystone Ave.
The first victim underwent surgery and is expected to survive but the second man died in hospital from an apparent gun wound, although police said that still needs to be confirmed. He is the city's 73rd homicide of the year.
Police say the two men spoke just before 7 p.m. and arranged to meet at the Eddystone Avenue building. The security video showed the two men arriving at the address just after 7 p.m. It also showed four men unidentified men in the area at the same time.
Investigators believe a fight broke out soon after as the video shows the two victims running away from the scene. The security tape then shows one of the men collapsing.
The four men on the video are now being considered by police as persons of interest.
A 16-year-old not seen on the tape, was taken into custody for questioning but police released him unconditionally when they realized he wasn't involved.
