ORILLIA, Ont. - Ontario residents are being asked to provide items and ideas for a new Ontario provincial police time capsule.
The capsule, part of the force's 100th anniversary celebrations, will be installed in a brass column at the OPP museum in Orillia, Ont.
The museum is seeking everyday items such as letters and pictures that will increase the value of the capsule to future historians and the public.
When the submission window closes on May 15, a jury will select items for the capsule, which will be sealed on Oct. 13 for 50 years.
The time capsule project is a provincewide event, open to all ages, the general public and past and present provincial police employees.
More information about the project, including a suggested list of contributions, can be found at http://www.opptimecapsule.ca
