A man is dead after his car slammed into a pole on Highway 401, near Kennedy Avenue, in the early morning hours Saturday.
Ontario Provincial Police said the collision occurred at 3:20 a.m. when a Toyota Echo veered from the eastbound collector lanes over a grassy median.
The vehicle collided with a pole before coming to a stop against a steel guardrail, police said.
The 22-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was the only person in the car.
Police have not released the man’s name or a cause of the collision.
