A man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the slaying of 21-year-old Jonathan Rodrigues, Toronto police said Monday.
Police discovered Rodrigues' lifeless body in February at a home on Golfhaven Drive, in the Orton Park and Lawrence Avenue area, on Feb. 22.
The victim was with friends when he was confronted by unknown suspects at the back door and shot, police said. Between four and six men were seen getting into two vehicles and were last seen driving south on Mossbank Avenue.
Police posted security footage online showing four men leaving the scene.
An arrest warrant was issued on March 4 for 36-year-old Toronto resident Mohmed Ahmed Nakhuda.
Nakhuda was arrested Sunday and charged with first degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
