A Thornhill man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to hurt someone with a knife and inappropriately touching someone during a flight to Toronto from Ukraine.
A spokesperson with Peel Regional Police said the man had been drinking and was acting "loud and boisterous" aboard an Aerosvit Airlines flight on Sunday.
A 23-year-old woman told authorities she was grabbed as she walked by the suspect. The suspect then allegedly stood in the aisle making it hard for other people to pass, Const. Adam Minnion told CTV.ca.
Authorities allege the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened a 33-year-old man with a butterfly knife when he squeezed by.
Passengers were able to restrain the suspect and crew members seized a knife. Once the plane landed at Pearson International Airport, Peel Police arrested a suspect at the gate without incident.
Alexei Levin, 48, faces charges of sexual assault, mischief, threatening with a prohibited weapon and possession of dangerous weapon.
