A pane of glass fell from a Toronto condominium tower early Thursday morning, making it the fourth recent incident in which falling glass shattered in the downtown core.
Toronto police said one pane of glass fell overnight from a 25th storey balcony of a condo on Simcoe Street, near Richmond Street West and University Avenue.
No one was injured, but the glass struck two parked cars, police said.
Pedestrian walkways were blocked off as city crews cleared the shattered glass, but have since reopened.
The falling glass shards is the fourth recent incident to occur in Toronto’s downtown core, an area prominently made up of high rise office towers and condominiums.
On May 28, two panes of glass fell from the RBC Centre on Wellington Street, at Simcoe Street. One pane fell from the 31st floor in the early evening and another fell from the 11th floor shortly after police arrived to clear the scene.
On March 26, pieces of glass fell from at 16th floor window of an office tower at 180 Queen St. W. The incident occurred just days after glass fell from the Trump International Hotel and Tower at the intersection of Bay and Adelaide Streets.
No one was injured in any of these incidents.
