Toronto police have upgraded the charge against a 23-year-old Toronto man to first-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman in late 2011.
Winnipeg resident Leanne Freeman, 23, was found suffering from trauma on Unwin Avenue on Nov. 29, 2011.
Robert Beauregard, 31 and Joseph Beauregard, 31, were charged with first degree murder in the same case back in December of last year.
Jonathan Ash was initially charged with accessory to murder.
Police said Tuesday that Ash is now charged with first-degree murder
The investigation into the death of the young woman has been ongoing, leading police to upgrade the charges against Ash.
Ash is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday.
