ST.CATHARINES, Ont. -- Police have made an arrest in a St.Catharines fire which is being treated as a homicide.
They say 19-year-old Cassell Farnsworth has been arrested and will face charges of first degree murder and arson with disregard for human life.
Police say 19-year-old Madeline Hood was killed in the basement of a home which caught fire just before 6 p.m. on Saturday.
They say Farnsworth and Hood were known to each other.
Farnsworth is being held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Monday in a St. Catharines court.
