CORNWALL, Ont. - Cornwall police have charged a 43-year-old Welland man with four counts of sexual assault.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in Cornwall between 1979 and 1985.
Police say the alleged victims are two men and two women who would have been between the ages of 8 and 19 at the time.
Police say an investigation revealed that a man was an acquaintance of the alleged victims, who befriended or babysat them.
Paul Pomerleau was released from custody on Monday and is to appear in court on Feb. 4.
