Winter Waterfowl at Tommy Thompson Park
The guided tours are fully booked, but you can head down to Tommy Thompson Park (located at the foot of Leslie Street) for your own ramble to the viewing station and pedestrian bridge. Expected on the water: many ducks that spend summers in the Arctic, and migrate to the Lake Ontario region for winter. Those who survived this winter's deep freeze are tough customers. Other arctic visitors spotted in the area include Snowy Owls at Tommy Thompson, and at Col. Sam Smith Park (foot of Kipling Ave.)
