TORONTO - Two people are facing charges following the alleged assault of a 30-year-old man in downtown Toronto.
Police allege the victim was approached by a man and a woman early Monday morning, assaulted and dragged into a nearby laneway.
They say the man and woman continued to punch and kick the victim and robbed him of some personal belongings.
Police say the assault stopped when a passerby called 911, causing the suspects to flee.
Claude Banfield, 38, and Ashley McLeod, 19, both of Toronto, are charged with robbery and assault.
