A 13-year-old boy is dead and a man is missing after a canoe capsized on Lake Couchiching Tuesday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police said they responded to a report of an overturned canoe in the water off Lunge Point in the Cumberland Beach area of Lake Couchiching.
Emergency officials pulled the 13-year old from the water and rushed him to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
A 23-year-old man, believed to be a relation of the victim, remains missing.
A Hercules search-and-rescue aircraft from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton as well as additional craft were called in for the search, but were turned away after weather conditions deteriorated.
The name of the victim was not released.
