Toronto police have charged a man in connection with an assault where a commuter was pushed onto the tracks at the College subway station.
The 46-year-old male victim was shoved onto the track level on May 21 while he was standing on the platform. He was able to lift himself back to safety before the train pulled into the station.
Police released surveillance camera images of the suspect hoping the public could identify him and his whereabouts. Investigators said the motive for the attack was unclear.
On Tuesday, police and TTC special constables were called to the Islington subway station when a man refused to pay for his fare.
During their investigation, police discovered he was the man who was being sought in connection with the College subway station incident.
Grgo Kutlesa, 42, of no fixed address, has been charged with aggravated assault.
He appeared at the Old City Hall courts on Wednesday.
