A puppy that was allegedly stolen at gunpoint has been reunited with its mother.

Police say that they were called to the area of Port Union, near Meadowvale and Lawson roads, at about 9 p.m. on April 3.

Police said that a man posted an ad on Kijiji about selling a puppy. The man said he was contacted by a “prospective buyer” who indicated he wished to buy the puppy.

The buyer and seller agreed to meet at a pre-arranged location. Once there, the seller was approached by four men, one of which pointed a shotgun at the seller.

Police allege that the men took the puppy from the seller, got into their vehicle and fled the scene.

On April 16, police charged a suspect in connection with the robbery but the puppy stolen in the Port Union incident was not recovered.

Upon searching the suspect’s residence, police said they found another puppy that they believe was taken on April 3 in a similar incident in Ajax.

On Thursday, police said they had located owner and mother of the puppy – whose name is Oreo.

Christopher Rampersaud, 20, of Brampton was charged with armed robbery, using an imitation firearm, weapons dangerous and possession of property by crime under $5,000.

The accused made an appearance in court on Saturday.

Oreo and her mother appear to be doing just fine.
