A man believed to be an innocent bystander has become Toronto's second homicide victim of the year.
The victim was shot in the head outside the Brass Rail strip club on Yonge Street, south of Bloor Street, at about 1:15 a.m.
Before the incident, two men had been ejected from the club, police said.
The men started to walk away but then returned. One of them pulled out a handgun and started firing, police said.
The victim, whose age or identity hasn't been released, was struck once in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was not believed to have been the intended target, police said. There were a number of people outside the club at the time of the shooting.
The two suspects were spotted running south on Yonge and then east on Charles Street.
The first man is described as:
- In his early 20s
- Between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11
- Medium build
- Possibly Hispanic
- He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and a white baseball cap
The second suspect is described as;
- In his early 20s
- Between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10
- Skinny
- Light-black complexion
- He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt
