A 40-year-old man is in critical condition after a crash on an exit ramp from the northbound lanes of Highway 400 on Saturday morning

Ontario Provincial Police said the driver from Puslinch, Ont. was airlifted to Sunnybrook hospital and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

The OPP said the rider lost control as he took the turn on the exit ramp near the town of Innisfil, Ont. and veered off the roadway and hit a highway sign at approximately 9:45 am.

OPP said the Innisfil Beach Road Ramp is closed and they expect the ramp will be closed until 12:30 p.m.

All lanes on the 400 are still open.
