One man is dead and two others have been taken to hospital after a two-alarm house fire in northwest Toronto on Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to Waterbeach Crescent, near Albion and Martin Grove Roads, at about 3:35 p.m.
Emergency workers found the lifeless body of a middle-aged man inside the home. The victim, who was in a wheelchair and suffered from multiple sclerosis, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's father and the deceased's nephew were taken to hospital with unspecified injuries. Police said three generations of a family lived inside the home.
No ages or names have been released, and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
Tuesday's incident comes just days after a father and two of his kids were killed in a two-alarm house fire in the city's west end.
Stuart Cameron, 44, and his five-year-old daughter Mackenzie and four-year-old son Arthur, were unable to escape the flames that engulfed his small home on Caledonia Road near St. Clair Avenue on Saturday. Cameron's wife Loretta and their two-year-old daughter Tara managed to escape.
Fire officials say the home was equipped with working smoke detectors at the time it caught on fire. It could, however, take weeks before the cause of the fire is determined, authorities said.
