A man is facing a long list of charges after a wild police chase that exceeded speeds of 160 km/h in Scarborough on Thursday morning.
The pursuit began after the suspect allegedly tried to run down a police officer during a traffic stop in the Markham Road and Finch Avenue area at about 9 a.m.
During the brief chase, the driver sped through red lights and swerved through traffic, police said.
Officers stopped the pursuit after a few minutes because of safety concerns to the public.
Investigators were able to track the licence plate to a home in the area, where they arrested the suspect.
The officer was not seriously hurt.
