HALTON HILLS, Ont - A 50-year-old woman from Halton Hills is dead after being hit by a vehicle as she crossed the street to fetch her mail.
Halton Region police say the accident happened yesterday afternoon on Winston Churchill Blvd. in the community northwest of Mississauga.
The woman was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
No charges have been laid against the 29-year-old Toronto man driving the vehicle, who was not hurt in the crash.
