A driver had to be pulled from a bus and treated in hospital after the vehicle knocked over a hydro pole and became stuck under an overpass in Toronto's west end.
The bus was travelling along Weston Road at approximately 7 a.m. when the driver lost control, struck the hydro pole and collided with the Albion Road overpass, police said.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash, and the driver's injuries are not believed to be serious, according to paramedics.
It took investigators hours to figure out the best way to extract the wedged bus.
The bus was first stabilized with a yellow band wrapped around the back and then attached to a tow truck. A tow truck on top of the Albion road bridge pulled away debris from the front of the bus.
Hours later, a tow truck behind the bus was able to very slowly pull it back.
Police have contacted City of Toronto engineers to examine the bridge. It is not yet known whether any structural damage was caused by the crash.
There is no word yet on what caused the bus to veer off the road.
