A French-style mansion that has hosted celebrities and politicians is listed for sale at $25 million in an affluent area of Toronto.
The gated four-acre property and 28,000 sq. ft. home at 68 The Bridle Path was built by financier and real estate developer Robert Campeau in the early 1980s.
The Bridle Path is an upscale neighbourhood often referred to as "Millionaires' Row."
The chateau was blessed by a cardinal, and has played host to guests like former prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Jane Fonda.
It also appeared on an episode of "Suits" last year, and was featured in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movie "It Takes Two."
The current owners bought the home in 2002, and restored it with the help of an architect, interior designer and landscape architect. The owners then searched worldwide for period pieces dating back to the 1600s, to match the style of the home.
The property contains 10 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen. It also has an Olympic-sized swimming pool with a retractable floor that converts into a ballroom.
