Several pieces of art taken from the walls of a downtown Toronto hospital have been found abandoned in a ravine, CTV News has learned.
The framed artwork was found by a bylaw enforcement officer in the Bloor Street and Runnymede Road area late Tuesday night.
The condition of the pictures is not clear at this time.
The recovery comes days after nine prints were removed from the Burton Wing of Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children.
Police say a suspect visited Sick Kids hospital in downtown Toronto on Thursday and stripped nine large framed prints from the walls.
The prints, 18" by 18" in size, are described as square pictures with an alphabet letter on each piece. Also taken was a plaque with the artist's name, Darren Rigo.
In surveillance photos released by police, a man can be seen walking through the hospital hallways and pushing a collection of large prints on a trolley.
The suspect is described as a white male with dark brown hair and dark-framed glasses. He was clean-shaven and wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt, dark pants and black shoes.
Police believe he may have left the hospital in a light-coloured four-door Mercedes-Benz.
