TORONTO -- Dwight Anderson's stay with the Toronto Argonauts was a short one.
The Argos released the veteran cornerback Tuesday after just seven games. Running back Jeremiah Johnson and receiver Terrell Sinkfield were also let go.
Toronto acquired Anderson, 33, from the Saskatchewan Roughriders on July 7. The eight-year veteran had 27 tackles, three sacks and two tackles for a loss with the Argos.
Anderson helped Saskatchewan win the Grey Cup last season.
Sinkfield signed as a free agent with Toronto in March. He appeared in five games, recording seven catches for 90 yards and a TD. He also had one rushing attempt for six yards, r11 kickoff returns for 240 yards and a punt return for nine yards.
Johnson signed with Toronto as a free agent in January. He played in five games, rushing for 110 yards on 21 carries. He also added 15 catches for 112 yards with one touchdown.
Toronto (3-6) is scheduled to face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-6) in the first game at Tim Hortons Field on Monday.
