A teenage boy has died after a shooting at a north-end apartment building late Monday night.

Police said they were called to 40 Turf Grass Way, near Jane St. and Finch Ave., around 10:30 p.m. after sounds of gunshots were heard from the third floor of a low-rise apartment building.

At the apartment, officers found the 15-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

EMS rushed the teen to hospital, where he later died.

Three people, including at least one family member, were brought in to 31 Division for police questioning. No arrests have been made.

Forensic teams were at the building early Tuesday morning to investigate. Police have not yet ruled the death a murder, instead calling it ‘suspicious.’

It’s the second time in less than a month that a 15-year-old has died as a result of gun violence in Toronto.

On Jan. 18, Tyson Bailey, a promising high-school football player, was shot numerous times in the stairwell of an apartment in the city’s Regent Park neighbourhood.

Nine-year-old Kesean Williams was shot and killed on Jan. 23 when a bullet was fired into his family’s Brampton, Ont. home.

The family had moved into the townhouse a week earlier and police said the shooting may have been linked to the previous occupants of the home.

No arrests in either of the murders have been made.
