A man is dead and another man is seriously injured after two separate but related stabbing incidents in downtown Toronto Saturday.

Paramedics say a 40-year-old man was stabbed in the left side of his chest during a fight in an apartment at 330 Jarvis St., near the corner of Carlton and Jarvis streets. He was transported to hospital and later pronounced dead.

Another man, 66, was found with a slash on his arm at Church and Carlton streets in an attack paramedics say involved a Samurai sword.

Paramedics say the man suffered a large slash wound on the arm and is in hospital with critical injuries.

Toronto police say the two stabbings are related. Investigators are not looking for any suspects.

Police are asking any witnesses with information to come forward.
