A woman has died and a teenage boy is injured after being struck by a vehicle on Don Mills Road.
Police were called to Don Mills Road, just north of Barber Greene Road, shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
Witnesses said black Saturn was travelling north, and collided with a southbound Audi attempting to turn left. The Saturn mounted the curb, hitting two pedestrians who were standing on the sidewalk.
When they arrived, paramedics found a woman and a teenage boy who had been hit by the black Saturn. Police said the woman was not breathing or conscious, and paramedics began performing CPR at the scene. The 45-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
The teen, believed to be approximately 15 years old, was rushed to hospital. Toronto Police Const. Victor Kwong said the extent of the boy's injuries is not yet known.
A driver was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the crash, Don Mills Road is closed between Wynford Drive and The Donway West. It is not clear what caused the driver to swerve onto the sidewalk.
