Toronto police are investigating the deaths of two men in a north-end parking garage.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene, which is near a housing unit in the area of Sheppard Avenue and Bathurst Street.

It's believed they were found in a stairwell with multiple gunshot wounds.

Const. Tony Vella said that a call was made about the incident at about 3:56 p.m., and officers rushed to 325 Bogert Avenue.

Reports from the scene suggest that the victims were in their late teens or early 20s

There were initial reports of gunfire at the scene, and multiple casings from a semi-automatic firearm were found nearby.

In the hours after the shooting, officers were speaking to nearby residents and attempting to piece together what led to the deaths.

Homicide units also secured the area and blocked off a large perimeter for their investigation.

Some residents were not allowed to return home immediately following the shooting, and officers were checking to make sure that only residents could come into the area.

Police also said that a person or people were seen running from the parking garage area to nearby Earl Bales Park, a wooded area. It's not known if they were suspects.
