Police have charged a 31-year-old Toronto man with second-degree murder after his uncle's body was found Wednesday in an east-end apartment.
Paul Joseph Prevost, 51, was found dead at about 3 p.m. in his first floor unit at 419 Coxwell Ave., near Gerrard Street.
Police and paramedics attended Project Amik, the native residence where Prevost lived, after relatives said they were unable to contact of him.
Prevost's body showed obvious signs of trauma, according to a news release from the Toronto Police Service.
Police allege Prevost's vehicle, a red Ford Tempo, was missing from the underground parking lot at the complex.
By Wednesday evening, police had arrested Daryl Brian Prevost, 31, and charged him in relation to his uncle's death.
He was scheduled to appear at College Park Court on Thursday.
An autopsy is scheduled for the victim on Thursday.
