TORONTO -- The Toronto Argonauts fired head coach Corey Chamblin after one season Thursday and hired former Boise State quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie as his replacement.
The Argonauts finished fourth in the East Division at 4-14 and missed the Canadian Football League playoffs.
The 39-year-old Dinwiddie spent the last four years as the Calgary Stampeders' quarterbacks coach. He was an assistant with the Montreal Alouettes from 2013-15.
"I am thrilled and honoured to be part of such a historic organization and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity," Dinwiddie said. "Winning Grey Cups are the ultimate goal and I can't wait to get started."
Dinwiddie played five seasons in the CFL, three with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and two with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The 42-year-old Chamblin was head coach of Saskatchewan between 2012 and '15, guiding the Riders to a Grey Cup in 2013 and earning CFL coach of the year honours.
