TORONTO - The lawyer for a man accused of being part of a terrorist plot says the release of an alleged training camp video tied to the case is "very concerning."
The video has surfaced on an American website, just one week before a verdict is to be delivered in a Brampton, Ont., courtroom in the case of the first person to stand trial in the alleged plot.
Lawyer Mitchell Chernovsky says he's concerned with the timing of the release and says the public is seeing the "provocative" images without the proper context.
Chernovsky says the video wasn't played at his client's trial, and to his knowledge, it was never in the hands of prosecutors.
He says he has no reason to believe the Crown or police were behind the release.
The Nine-Eleven Finding Answers Foundation, which posted the video, reportedly obtained the video from a British court after it was shown as an exhibit at the trial of a man convicted of being a terrorist propagandist.
