A Toronto high school principal has been charged with criminal harassment after allegedly stalking women.

Police said the suspect stalked one victim for a period of two years.

Officers were called to a home on Melrose Street on March 13 after neighbours said they saw a man in the backyard. When police arrived at the home, the man was gone.

Police launched an investigation into the case. They allege the man had been stalking a woman who lived at the home for a period of at least two years.

Spencer is principal at Duke of Connaught Junior and Senior Public School on Woodfield Road in Toronto.

He is free on bail and is on leave from his principal's job.

Police believe there may be other victims.
