Toronto police are hunting for a group of suspects accused of firing at a police officer.
The incident happened just before 3 a.m. Monday at Weston Road south of the 401.
A policeman in an unmarked car followed a car from a nightclub at 31 Beverly Hills Drive to a parking lot 2460 Weston Road.
When the policeman stopped the vehicle a suspect got out and fired about three to four shots, one of which hit the police car, Staff Sgt. Bob Skinner told CTV.ca.
The officer ducked and did not return fire. Police are looking for four or five suspects who fled the scene.
The policeman was assigned to watch the nightclub, which was well-known to police, Skinner told the Toronto Star.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 416-808-3101 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
