A downtown road has reopened following a serious collision that left a 65-year-old man with serious injuries, Tuesday afternoon.

Queen Street had been closed earlier in the day between Yonge and Church Streets after a silver Kia struck a man as he was crossing the road at about 12:15 p.m.

Toronto police said the man was conscious and breathing after the accident, but suffered serious cuts to his head, among other injuries. He has been transported to hospital.

Police remain at the scene and are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident for assistance in their investigation.
