Toronto police allege a local man charged in a massive provincial child pornography bust abused several young girls, even begging one girl to film herself committing sexual acts.

Det. Joel Manherz said the 42-year-old suspect used images of a 19-year-old, attractive male to lure a young girl into conversation on an online chat site.

"The male, known to the victim as Alex Sirop, demanded and at other times begged the victim to send him compromising pictures of herself and to masturbate for him on webcam," Manherz alleged at a Friday press conference.

Police say they were tipped off to the incident after the victim contacted RCMP in Alberta in 2010.

Shiraz Nariman faces several charges related to one victim, including child luring, invitation to sexual touching, possession of child pornography and making child pornography.

Nariman was named in the province-wide child pornography sweep announced Thursday and appeared in a Toronto court on Friday.

Manherz said several child pornography images were seized at the time of Nariman's arrest, and investigators believe there were several other victims dating back to at least 2006.

Police say some victims were so enamored with Nariman that he would be the first person they talked to when they got home from school. One even said she wanted to marry him.

Police are appealing to anyone who believes they may have been a victim in the case to come forward.

Police say they do not know the identity of the young man whose images were allegedly used by Nariman, but consider him a potential victim of identity theft and want to speak with him as well.
