Police are searching for a suspected arsonist after three early-morning blazes were reported in the Queen and Dufferin area.
Fire crews scrambled to douse three separate fires in the early-morning hours.
The first occurred in a townhouse complex on Florence Street around 2:45 a.m. when debris in one of the garages was ignited.
The second occurred when debris was set ablaze near a set of train tracks in the Gladstone and Queen area.
The third fire was discovered on Sudbury Street when flames were spotted on the roof of a commercial building.
The city's fire marshal's office suspects the morning fires were set by the same person responsible for a slew of recent fires across Toronto.
"I am encouraging all citizens of the City of Toronto to certainly ensure their doors and windows are locked, that you're making sure your property is secure," Fire Chief Bill Stewart said during a press conference on Friday.
"I know that Toronto police are vigilant in their investigation of these crimes that we are seeing in the west end of the city, as well as, the Ontario Fire Marshal."
Stewart said finding the suspect has been problematic because the arsonist is moving throughout the city and hasn't left any clues.
Several automobiles were set ablaze in mid-July in the Bloor West Village area.
Authorities continue to investigate a blaze in the Christie-Pitts neighbourhood on July 2 and a series of fires in Cabbagetown on July 10.
A million-dollar mansion was also destroyed by fire on July 11.
No suspects have been apprehended in connection with any of the fires.
Stewart says there have been 232 arson fires set in the GTA this year causing $2.5 million in damage.
