BOWMANVILLE, Ont. - Police believe they are getting closer to identifying a woman whose remains were found in a field near Bowmanville four years ago.
The original search area was quite large, but investigators expanded it even further in hopes of finding other items.
So far the search has unearthed new artifacts that police say might be related to the case.
They include a women's gold ring and a unique multi-coloured shirt.
Durham regional police say the shirt has a "Blue Rodeo" brand name tag.
Investigators have also been able to create a DNA profile of the unnamed woman -- although there have been no matches so far.
