Toronto police have one suspect in custody but are still looking for another man they believe is connected to a shootout in an Etobicoke apartment building.
Investigators are also still looking to speak to a missing couple who may have witnessed the shooting.
At first police were concerned for their safety but the couple reached out to their family to let them know they are safe. They have not yet contacted detectives.
A man surrendered to Peel Regional Police Friday after an arrest warrant was issued in his name for first-degree murder.
He was transported to Toronto's 22 Division and charged in the murder of 20-year-old Jaime Hylton.
Police are asking people who might have information on the second suspect to contact them.
Police found Hylton on Oct. 27 suffering from several gunshot wounds in a hallway of Dundas Street West apartment building.
An ambulance rushed him to the trauma centre at St. Michael's hospital but he was soon pronounced dead.
A short while after police found Hylton, a second man walked into a nearby hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Police say he is not a suspect but a victim and eyewitness.
Police followed a trail of blood to the apartment where the shooting occurred but the tenants of the apartment -- a man and woman in their 40s -- were not inside when they went in.
The tenants are "absolutely not" suspects in the murder, Det. Sgt. Steve Ryan of Toronto police homicide squad told reporters at the time, though detectives do believe they were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.
Lamar Boreland, 21, appeared in court Saturday to face charges of first-degree murder.
