TORONTO - Two men face 25 charges in an investigation into a series of armed bank robberies in the Greater Toronto Area.

Police allege two men -- dubbed the Uptown Bandits -- robbed seven banks in Toronto and York Region between March 2011 and January 2012.

Police say the pair walked into banks with their faces masked, pointing firearms and took over the bank.

Investigators say they would flee the scene by car after stealing a large quantity of money.

Robert Dean, 31, of Toronto is facing 16 counts, including robbery while armed with firearm.

Marlon Marshall, 30, of Toronto is charged with nine robbery-related charges, including robbery while armed with firearm.
