A northern Ontario man has had a lucky year playing the lottery, and his latest win has made him a millionaire.
Robert Hong, a 52-year-old restaurant owner in Kirkland Lake, won $15 million in Saturday's Lotto 6/49.
"It's pretty incredible, it's a good feeling," Hong said with a big smile as he accepted his cheque in Toronto on Tuesday.
He was one of two winners in the massive weekend jackpot. The other ticket was turned in by a Quebec resident.
Hong plans to divest himself of the restaurant, and his wife Susan says she'll quit her job in the car and truck rental business.
"Everybody in our family has won the lottery," Susan said. "And we'll be able to spend a lot more time together with Rob home."
The couple does not have any immediate plans on how to spend the windfall.
The large cash prize is the second Hong has received this year playing the lottery. In April, he and a friend shared a pot of more than $340,000 in a Lotto 6/49 draw.
He said winning twice, especially in such a short period of time, is "surreal."
When asked what his winning strategy is, Hong simply said he purchases tickets on a consistent basis.
